heater, you know how expensive it can be. Depending on the size of the pool, the
outside temperature and the desired pool temperature the energy that a pool
demands to heat can be enormous. Solar pool heaters can heat your pool for free
using only the heat from the sun, greatly extending your swimming season every
year.
Incentives
The initial installation cost of a solar pool heater system is
in line with a gas or electric pool heater. The systems qualify for the 50%
Louisiana State tax credit. These systems can pay for themselves in their first year
of operation.
How they work
Basically solar pool heater operates in the same manner as
laying a garden hose out in the summer sun. Solar collectors (4) are mounted
either on a roof or a ground mounted structure nearby the pool. An automated valve (3)
with electronic temperature control (1,2) is installed in the flow line and directs
pool water through the solar collectors using the existing pool pump (5) when
conditions are favorable for heating. The systems can work with an existing gas or electric pool
heater. Not only can a solar pool heater heat your pool in the winter, but they
can if so desired cool your pool in the summer. We install only Heliocol solar
pool heater panels. Heliocol panels, unlike some inferior solar pool heater
panels, have no rubber hoses or worm clamps to deteriorate or rupture.
Maintenance
Solar pool heaters require little to no maintenance.
